I am an artist and textile designer living in New York City. Born into a many patterned home, I would not fully realize the influence of my early surroundings until years later. While studying at the Rhode Island School of Design, I took the leap from illustration, my first love, into textiles. The ability to convey a story with this new tactile medium that could become a living part of one’s environment or personal adornment was endlessly inspiring.
To this day, my inspiration comes from all around me. From my travels, to the rich eclecticism of fashion, art and culture that fills my home city, to the irregular rhythms found in nature. I find equal joy in the the atmospheric quality of an heirloom staple that fortifies a living space as I do in the drama of a well placed statement accessory. Most importantly, I believe that a well designed fabric should sing.
